Smack on the pivotal trading routes of the old world, The Netherlands is a small, but socially dynamic country of close to 17 million people.
It struggles valiantly to stop the North Sea from inundating its islands and low lying coast, and to integrate the flood of refugees from Africa and the Anatolian Peninsula, which threaten to overwhelm the robust Dutch social fabric.
Imagine my joy, then, to learn that there are seven City Daily Photo bloggers in The Netherlands, and that they are having their second annual meetup on Saturday 19th January in Gouda.
Bloggers represent Gouda, Rotterdam, Tilburg, Texel, Venlo, Woerden, and Oud Beijerland. Texel is an island in the north of the country.
Their first meetup, in January 2012, was at Koningshoeve Monastery on the outskirt of Tilburg.
