According to colorpsychology.org, Blue is the most universally favoured colour of them all.
Blue is unique and versatile, and apparently each shade of blue can mean a different thing. Blue is known to be linked with creativity, sky blue is linked to calming and helping a person relax, and dark blue is associated with intelligence and lack of emotion.
I'm thinking in just the right tone it can also be linked to kayaking down a slalom course very rapidly as well.
