Ten years ago this month -- on March 23, 2007 -- a former newspaper reporter and editor decided to begin a daily photography blog devoted to her hometown of Selma, Alabama. Those of us from outside central Alabama knows the name Selma either from living through the turbulent 1960s or from history books. But, Janet Gresham wanted to highlight the friendlier face of her small city. Through Selma Daily Photo we have lived through the seasons in the Black Belt of Alabama (named for the color of the rich soil), met some of her citizens, visited attractions and supplanted some unhappy memories of Selma with newer and happier ones. Congratulations, Janet!
